Engine: Yanmar 2YM 15hk. Diesel. Year 2009
A Jewel on the Water * Top-notch equipment and brand new sails * Newer Yanmar 2YM engine
One of the most beautiful Molich X-meters out there.
Everything on board is in an exceptionally fine condition.
Cared for, maintained, and looked after.
Always stored in a hall during winter.
Here, everything is new or newer equipment.
It is with pride that we now offer this masterpiece of a classic Danish sailboat. She is one of the most beautiful and iconic vessels sailing in Denmark. The "Molich X-meter" is indisputably the top of what is available and built domestically.
These are ships that are well taken care of. Ships where owner joy and pride go hand in hand with outstanding sailing capabilities.
This specimen lives up in every way to everything one can dream of when thoughts turn to the "Molich-X meter".
Here, one can delve into the details and truly appreciate how beautifully maintained she is.
Wherever you look. There are not many of her kind, and only rarely do you see the very best Molichs like her on the sales lists.
She is being sold solely because the owner, after many years of active sailing life, has chosen to come ashore.
A vessel so beautiful and sharp naturally bears the right name: "Savage Rose VI"
A "Molich X-meter" is a swan on the water. The lines come together in perfect harmony. Anyone who sees her will nod in approval, even if they may have never seen such a vessel before. There is no doubt about which ship is the most beautiful in the harbor. It cannot be done better.
Everything on board "Savage Rose" is top-notch and from the top shelf. If something needs to be highlighted, it's basically everything that needs to be mentioned. On her, it's not just the sailing capabilities and everything on deck and in the cockpit that shines in the sun. She is one of the Molich X-meters that truly invites you to come aboard. It's just so nice and luxurious to be on her when her skipper couple sets out on longer trips with overnight stays.
The ship was built in 1980 at "Hundested Baadebyggeri". She is in the version with the long coachroof, which in my opinion is the most beautiful version of a "Molich X-meter".
The very readable story of how Poul Molich and Jan Ebert created the ship can be found on the "Molich-X meter" club's website:
http://www.molich-x-meter.dk/?page_id=4
In the story, the Danish Navy's two well-known and iconically beautiful sailing ships appear: "THYRA" and "SVANEN". As a young man, I was aboard them, and that's where my dreams of sailing exceptional ships were truly born.
These two ships, as well as "Savage Rose," are of course created by one and the same person: Poul Molich is the man behind them all.
Equipment and Maintenance
One thing is the distinguished history and the ship's beautiful sailing lines. Something entirely different (and the most essential) is that: "Savage Rose VI" has been cared for and maintained.
The ship shows very few signs of use and is absolutely damage-free. Great care has been taken of her, and one reaps the rewards in the form of owner joy on par with a new boat.
Add to this the amount of renewed equipment, rig, mast, engine, and among other things, brand new top-performing black "Elvstrøm Epex sails". It doesn't get much better than this.
It is a pleasure to read and enjoy the extremely comprehensive equipment list. See it below.
Winter Storage
"Savage Rose VI" has always been safely and securely stored indoors in a lovely boat hall. Here, she has enjoyed optimal conditions for good and proper care.
Woodwork
All woodwork on deck and in the cockpit is truly in top shape. All varnished parts have always been treated correctly with sanding and varnishing according to all the rules of the art. The teak deck was renovated by the previous owner about 8 years ago (boatbuilder) and looks fine.
All teak in the cockpit is of newer date. The beautiful teak has been cared for and maintained with soap flakes (80% fat content) from "Tibberup Høkeren" in Helsingør.
Hull
The hull is shiny and almost scratch-free. Products from "Ren skib" have been used for the hull.
Below the Waterline
"Savage Rose" appears below the waterline with a completely smooth VC17 treated surface. The hull has been sanded down and epoxy treated. It should also be mentioned that the rudder has been rebuilt and optimized.
Sails
The sail wardrobe is simply impressive. There are several sets of newer sails. Including a set of brand new, lovely, and beautiful black Elvstrøm sails with epex membrane.
Storage of Sails and Rigging
Sails and all loose equipment, rigging, mast, boom, and kicking rod are, of course, dismantled every year. Everything has been rinsed and hung indoors. The mast is in the boat hall, and everything else has had their winter spot in the owner's own heated, lovely premises. Here, it has been protected and maintained as the gear deserves.
Engine
The engine is a Yanmar 2YM from 2009. Annual servicing has been carried out. There is a new water separation filter, and the gearbox/engine oil has just been changed. The fine 2-bladed Gori folding propeller looks shiny and newly polished.
Welcome Aboard
"Savage Rose VI" can be viewed indoors under optimal conditions.
She is fully prepared and ready for rigging and launching.
Best regards Bjarke Sonnichsen
